I CHING SEMINAR

OCTOBER 24 AND 25

Instructor:  Howard Bad Hand

The I Ching or Book of Change is an ancient Chinese document that depicts the dynamics of change through a combination of 64 hexagrams or readings.

This seminar is an introduction on how to use and understand the teachings of the I Ching.  The text Howard prefers to use is the Wilhelm/Baynes edition which is the most comprehensive of all the translations and was the original translation.

Howard is a Lakota Sioux medicine man who began to study the I Ching while attending Dartmouth College in the early 1970’s. He has been an instructor for over twenty five years and has taught the I Ching at Naropa University since 1989.  Howard has found that it greatly enhances his understanding of his Lakota teachings and finds no contradiction between the two.

Individual, private readings are available Friday during the day and Sunday morning to address specific issues of interest to you.  The cost is $75 and will last for about one hour.

This seminar is being arranged with the support of Atlantic University of Chinese Medicine and is open to the public.

Instruction begins on Friday night, October 24th at 7 pm on the Mars Hill College campus in Mars Hill, NC.  The registration fee is $85 with a $35 deposit required.
